Question: Is claude-opus-4.6-1m in Copilot CLI only available for Pro+ or higher plans? #2401

Hi,

I have a question about model availability in Copilot CLI.

I am currently on the Copilot Pro plan. In the Copilot CLI model selection screen, I can see claude-opus-4.6-1m listed, but it appears under "Upgrade" with the following message:

"Your subscription does not include these models.
Visit your Copilot settings to explore upgrade options."

The blocked models shown are:

  • claude-opus-4.6-1m (6x)
  • gemini-3-pro-preview (1x)

My main question is:

Is claude-opus-4.6-1m only available to Copilot Pro+ users, or to higher-tier plans such as Business / Enterprise, and therefore not included in Copilot Pro?

I am asking because I could not find a clear explanation for this specific model in the official website or documentation. Since the model name is visible in the CLI, I want to confirm whether this is expected behavior and how plan eligibility works for it.

It would be very helpful if you could clarify the following:

  1. Is claude-opus-4.6-1m officially supported in Copilot CLI?
  2. Which Copilot plans currently include access to this model?
  3. Is it expected that users on Copilot Pro can see this model in the selector even if they cannot use it?
  4. If this model is not included in Pro, is upgrading to Pro+ the correct way to access it?

Environment:

  • Platform: Linux-Ubuntu24
  • Plan: Copilot Pro
  • Client: Copilot CLI
  • Observation: claude-opus-4.6-1m is visible in the model list, but marked as Blocked / Disabled

Thanks for any clarification.
